Elliot Lake was such a fine town to grow up in. I lived there from 1954-1969. Had some of the best times of my life there and sure miss the old place. My two sisters Fay and Candy are still there and I do owe them a visit. Cheers to Elliot Lake maybe we'll see you soon. If any of the old gang are still there I would love to here from you. Randy

Hi/bonjour, thanks for the lovely site. I had the good fortune of living in Elliot Lake between '65 and '68 (I was 9-12 years old), while my father worked at the government research centre. THose are magical years in my memories, as Elliot Lake was such a great place for a young boy to grow up in. It broke my heart when I had to leave, when we moved back to Ottawa. "All my changes were there", as Neil Young once wrote (Helpless). Lynne, I'm deeply sorry I broke your heart in 1967. If someone knows any of the St-Gelais who lived there then, please say hi to them for me (Real, Leon, Alain, etc.). Warm regards!

What a beautiful website! It has certainly whet my appetite. Have arranged a visit to Elliot Lake commencing August 14, 2000. Looking forward to discovering the potential of Elliot Lake as my new home. Am taking early retirement in August and long for a slower pace, in beautiful, natural surroundings. This may just be the place. If anyone has insight/sugesstions into retirement living in EL (I am taking the tour, etc.) that they would like to share, please e-mail me. Thanks.

As regular travelers we were searching for our next stop to visit in the world. We were browsing along somewhat clumsily on the internet when we stumbled onto the Elliot Lake site. Instantly, we were hooked! Yolanda, thank you so much for the pictures of the breathtaking scenery. You have us hooked. We made travel arrangements right away and are visting the city in October, 2000. An excellent webpage, easy to understand and easy on our old eyes. Thank you so much. We are so grateful.

I have lived in Elliot Lake since I was a young adult, and have never considered moving anywhere else since. It is so peaceful and pleasant here that I would not dare of moving into a condo apartment building in the big cities in Southern Ontario, namely Toronto and Ottawa. Everyone here is so nice and caring, especially to us senior citizens, and thats what makes me love Elliot Lake so much. It is amazingly gorgeous through all four seasons, Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn. I always drive along 108 just so I can get a glimpse of the vivid colours displayed in the Fall. I am so crazy about this town that I am one of the very slim few that brave Canada's harsh winters and do not fly south. Thats right, I'm no snowbird I can't bear to be away from Elliot Lake any longer than I need to be, which is never This might sound a lot like an old man rambling on about nothing but I am infatuated with this place. I have felt so strongly about this place that I even convinced some of my old budd

What an fabulous site. When I was younger I lived in Elliot Lake. I had the best years of my life here. Elliot Lake is so beautiful and so unspoiled that it really is a "Jewel in the Wilderness". I was planning to return here sometime in Mid-August, and the pictures of the beautiful scenery reminded me just how much I was missing. I am so homesick that I moved my trip up to the last week of July. It is great to see that Elliot Lake is still a close-knit community, where people care for not only themselves and their families but also their neighbours, coworkers, and friends. Sometimes the big city life in Toronto gets me down and I feel like I need a breath of fresh air. Even though I can't be in Elliot Lake, it certainly was some sort of relief at this website. Beautiful design and layout Yolanda. Excellent work. I am looking forward to returning to the town I love so dearly.
